What is District 14?

District 14 is a brand-new Java Minecraft minigame server with a competitive edge.

Our Story

The name District 14 is inspired by Suzanne Collins's Hunger Games novel series, in which thirteen districts exist and compete amongst one another. You can probably fill in the blanks from there. That series, however, was also the basis for one of, if not Minecraft's most popular minigame, Survival Games. SG has been reinterpreted and recreated thoroughly over the course of the last decade across a variety of servers, many of which eventually shut down.

So naturally, our first and most prominent gamemode on the server is Survival Games. We've taken inspiration and mechanics from famous SGs like Mineplex & MCSG, adding new balance changes and exciting features. We hope to offer the definitive version of this wonderful game and many others, and hope even more so to unite various communities looking to call a new server home.

District 14 has actually existed in some form for the last four years, but only operated as a competitive league almost entirely focused on SG. With a turbulent history and success rate that was completely privy to the servers we hosted on, a golden opportunity presented itself in May: a collaboration between the league & a passionate developer already at work. What was first a small partnership has now blossomed into a complete, long-term project.
